We're both pleased & proud to at last officially announce that the Mythic Party custom event for 2012 will be...
...specifically a special session of the Gold ENnie-award winning horror RPG,
Dread co-ordinated & run by its very own experts from
Windmill Games, Akira Barnes, Jason Pisano, & Brian Keller.
Dread has rave reviews all over the Interwebs
such as here &
here &
here. What made it win that Gold ENnie- an Innovation Award- is the fact that instead of numbers for stats your characters are composed from a series of developing questions & instead of dice whenever you try to do something that could seriously fail you pull a block from a Jenga tower. Pull ok & you succeed, knock the tower over & something bad happens to you. BAD-BAD.
But to capture the essence of a horror movie, after the tower falls it must be rebuilt to the same height it had just reached, making the pulls harder & more dangerous. So the tension continues to escalate until the eventual climax of the story.
This Saturday night will be the only formal run of Dread at Gen Con 2012, & only for the top 7 bidders to our charity of choice, the equally innovative
Search Dog Foundation. We are helping raise awareness & donations (all of which go directly to them, not through us) towards their building the 1st ever
National Training Center for canines that perform disaster rescues.
If you're ready to try an absolutely unique Gen Con opportunity, to both have a unique roleplay experience as well as feel like a character right inside a horror movie, & to help out a wonderful non-profit agency that helps both dogs as well as disaster victims, look here for more info real soon.
